David T. Cohen

David Cohen has been practicing law since the mid-1970s and has extensive experience in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions, development, and litigation. A fixture of the south-suburban legal community, David built his law practice into one of the most respected real estate firms in the area. With clientele that included TCF National Bank, LaSalle Bank, Cole Taylor Bank, and Prairie Bank & Trust Co., David has represented numerous lenders in mortgage foreclosure actions, REO sales, evictions, bankruptcies, housing, administrative hearings, and preparation of loan documents.

In addition to his robust representation of mortgage lenders, David brings a broad real estate practice to the Firm. David has represented individuals and developers through all aspects of residential and commercial transactions. Having represented tens of thousands of real estate buyers and sellers and gained an in-depth knowledge of title agency, David founded the successful title company, First Suburban Title, Inc., which was recently purchased by Attorneys’ Title Guaranty Fund, Inc. David has also been involved in numerous small and large real estate land developments, including Ruffled Feathers in Lemont and Crystal Tree Golf & Country Club and housing developments in Orland Park.

David’s service to the legal community also involves positions with numerous boards, including the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association and Cabrini Green Legal Aid Foundation. David is also a founding member of and past president of the Crystal Tree Golf & Country Club in Orland Park.

In his spare time, David enjoys golf, vacationing in Florida, and spending time with his grandchildren.
